Jianhui has been working with recycled and upcycled materials for over two decades. [His name, by the way, means ‘building a splendid life’ and is pronounced as JanWay]

We have a deep commitment to 'slow’, renewable, beautiful fashion; and our eco-friendly collections won a sustainability award at New York Now show and a gold medal for sustainability at Coterie NYC.

We have an equal commitment to fairness. The artisans who make our products

are paid fairly and work in or close to their own homes, with most of the manufacture using traditional methods. And we support local community initiatives — an Indonesian maker of our designs also runs in his village a school for disabled children, we help fund the library.

And we try and spread the message: we have give lectures at Columbia University on climate change and sustainability and our designs feature in a global youth education programme run by Smithsonian Institution, where Jianhui is a research mentor.

And all the time turning materials that others throw away into flamboyant and playful fashion.
